Job Description
Position Summary:
The primary objective of this position will be to assume direct responsibility of end-to-end supply chain from demand to supply for all products supported at Sunnyvale facility. The position will include direct management of global material planning and overall material planning for Sunnyvale manufacturing including presenting material availability of materials used for assigned key accounts
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop cost reduction strategy for material procurement and logistics.
- Planning demand and supply of raw material, semifinished / finished product from contract manufacturer and overseas partners.
- Developing strategic relationships with our key suppliers and setup a yearly cost reduction plan while maintaining quality.
- Be actively involved with R&D team to develop a NPI sourcing plan, alternate sourcing for long lead items and cost estimation.
- Develop new sources for contract manufacturing and participate in supplier selection process.
- Lead the supply chain team to be successful in material planning, execution and be a liaison between Sunnyvale procurement and Asia factories for material movement.
- Hands on procurement and material planning including team management at Sunnyvale.
- Implement strategy with hands on price, delivery and contractual negotiation skills.
- Develop strategies to constantly monitor and reduce inventories at Sunnyvale warehouse using JIT, Kanban and VMI agreements.
- Establish Purchasing and Logistics KPI’s including Inventory $ and PPV.
- Define and implement best practice for material planning.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Have at least 10 years sourcing experience with Electro Mechanical components and EMS supply chain.
- Understanding of the functionalities of an ERP system is a must.
- Excellent knowledge in spreadsheets and logical data analysis is a must.
- Excellent proven negotiation skills.
- Understand risk minimization strategies in supply chain (VMI, Kan Ban etc…)
- Understanding of engineering BOMS and technical drawings
- Be Knowledgeable in SAP ERP and understanding of S4 Hana system will be plus.
- APICS or ISM certification would be a plus
- Understanding of international shipments and custom logistics.
- Excellent knowledge in spreadsheet data analysis.
