Job Summary

Manage all supply chain activities of the organization or division

Job Duties

  • Responsible for overseeing tasks related to production planning, supplier selection, pricing negotiations, materials purchasing, inventory control, and the distribution of finished goods
  • Monitor the movement of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished goods to ensure that production needs and customer expectations are met
  • Collect data and prepare analysis designed to forecast demand and predict inventory needs to optimize carrying costs of inventory and finished goods
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and facilitate the purchase of needed materials to ensure an uninterrupted supply of goods and services
  • Evaluate existing supply chain processes, implementing changes when necessary to reduce waste and to improve efficiency and overall supply chain performance
  • Document and manage the performance of supply chain staff and report out on supply chain key performance indicators
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
  • Ensure adherence to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, standardizing processes, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Comprehensive knowledge of key supply chain concepts and principles related to purchasing, production planning, inventory control, logistics, distribution, and customer service
  • Experience leading and directing the work of cross-functional employees
  • Experience making personnel decisions and managing staff
  • Competency in administering established policies and procedures as well as optimizing them through continuous improvement activities
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business and at least 5 years of experience in similar positions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficient interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships
  • Creativity in problem-solving and process improvement
  • Thorough organizational skills and attention to detail
