The Senior Manager of Global and Upstream Marketing, reporting to the Sr. Director of Global & Upstream Marketing, will be the key responsible for driving upstream planning and global commercialization of the Selution SLR Drug-Eluting Balloon (DEB). This global launch represents the single largest short to mid-term growth driver for Cordis. With differentiated technology and best-in-class efficacy demonstrated through clinical trials there is a key opportunity to disrupt the lower-extremity and coronary market segments, taking substantial share and delivering significant incremental revenue.
Success in this role will be determined by working across the development teams to ensure that appropriate Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Business are considered and needs are prioritized through the development work. As commercialization in new geographies nears this role will have responsibility for coordinating the global launch while working across geography counterparts who will drive regional launch planning.
The role will also have responsibility for architecting the global PTA portfolio to compliment the go-forward Selution SLR DEB. This will require effective balancing of both internal and external needs in order to maximize cadence, resources, market share and margins.
Responsibilities
- Act as Marketing Core Team Member in all DEB and PTA development projects, providing clinician VoC and driving input on key business needs.
- Drive long-term product introduction strategies include early go-to market assessments, reimbursement, and other market preparation needs.
- Effectively engage key clinicians early in projects in order to ensure alignment with VOC and to drive belief and support from visible and influential clinician partners.
- Drive global launch excellence by coordinating global launch plan efforts across regions with cross-functional partners. Key responsibilities within the launch will include messaging, collateral development strategies, and supply planning.
- Lead ongoing message refinement based on new clinical data and changes to market conditions.
- Align with cross functional partners and based on business need lead product line obsolescence efforts on a global basis in order to maintain portfolio simplicity and drive margin benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, and preferably MBA focused on business, marketing or and at least 12 years of experience within the Medical Device space.
- 5+ years of product management experience.
- Demonstrated success driving global launch excellence with new products
- Demonstrated expertise in generating VoC for R&D and commercial projects
- Experience working globally in a virtual environment across multiple countries/regions, with proven ability to work within areas of cultural difference or consumer sensitivity
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, estimated 30% travel
Preferred Experiences
- Deep experience related to interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, or interventional radiology markets preferred.
- Background in engineering or pharmacology is a benefit.
- Proven ability to develop new R&D projects / business programs that positively impact the business trajectory through application of customer research, strategy development, new product development and commercialization
- Targeted global / international roles that demonstrate ability to think and execute broadly.

Business Acumen / Driving Results
- Experience crafting product level strategy and driving alignment at an executive level (includes product roadmap determination and strategic planning).
- Deep experience delivering products from idea to market within a marketing role.
- Experience launching products (including product launch plan leadership and messaging development).
- Good financial background including development of revenue forecasts, NPVs and comfort with reading and analyzing P&Ls and other financial statements.
- Experience working with drug / device combo products. Demonstrated ability to both understand the technology and simplify the mode of action to simplify understanding for less technical targets.
- Demonstrated ability to engage KOLs on a product in order to shift opinions / perceptions.
