The Manager, Customs Compliance will be responsible for ensuring the company operates in full compliance with the laws and standards required for the importation of US and Canada goods.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain total control over the team and responsibilities related to the daily workload of classification, line review, and responses to customs for information
  • Proactively monitor SAP duty assignment by classification deadline date, vendor, and incoterm
  • Provide trade compliance and duty guidance to Sourcing and Design from the point of article adoption/line review through costing and classification
  • Manage the customs brokerage performance and relationship in partnership with VP, Global Logistics
  • Provide customs compliance guidance for internal programs and keep the company informed of changes in trade compliance, applicable duties, or free trade agreements
  • Establish and maintain measurable Key Performance Indicators specific to the classification of goods, the entry process, vendor documentation compliance, and post entry amendments
  • Create and maintain standard operational procedures
  • Identify areas for operational process improvement based on supply chain data analysis in GT Nexus and SAP
  • Manage and oversee the yearly ISA audit program
  • Manage and oversee the First Sale process
  • Maintain the electronic import documentation storage

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in customs compliance management 
  • Experience in handling yearly high volume of customs entries (8,000) with multiple lines
  • Experience in the classification of sets/articles that require multiple HTS codes to one article specifically related to apparel
  • Experience in GT Nexus and SAP, specifically related to the classification TCODES in SAP
  • Experience working with an expanding international business

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and written skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively to department teams and cross-functional partners
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation skills across multiple levels of the organization
