Senior Analyst, Global Trade Compliance
Position Summary:
The Sr Analyst, Global Trade Compliance will report to the Sr Manager, Global Trade Compliance to ensure smooth and timely distribution of products across the globe. The Sr Analyst will manage the day-to-day operations for imports and exports related to the US and other territories, as needed, to assure compliance and minimize risk. The Sr Analyst will also support the development of policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with global trade regulations. This is a full-time contract position for 6 months with the possibility to extend or convert to permanent based in Pleasanton, CA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-import and export operations to ensure accurate and timely import and export filings; including but not limited to:
- Respond to transactional inquiries from customs brokers for products that require additional information to be cleared for importation.
- Operational oversight of pre-alerts; build processes to minimize clearance delays.
- Respond to internal stakeholders with questions relating to their shipments, from a customs clearance standpoint.
- Responsible for the correct classification of products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff System and regional export regulations
- Support the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for trade compliance activities, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Interpret global trade compliance regulations.
- Develop training manuals, SOPs, and desk procedures to comply with global trade compliance requirements.
- Research and support various trade compliance projects and process improvement initiatives in the areas of Customs Valuation, Customs Broker Management, Record Keeping, Denied Party Screening, and Country of Origin amongst others.
- Act as Administrator and SME for Export Control Screening Systems
- Participate in 3rd party service provider reviews and evaluations.
- Conduct internal audits to determine import and export compliance performance; and support external audit activities as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of training activities and initiatives.
- Identify areas for process improvements and develop metrics and reports to gauge success.
- Identify and report to Sr Manager any trade compliance violations (or potential violations) and assist/lead the investigation, preparing documentation and corrective actions as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics from an accredited college or university or equivalent work
- 4+ years of global trade compliance, import/export experience, and internal audit activities
- Strong knowledge of North American trade compliance regulations and requirements. EMEA Experience is a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FTR, EAR, and CBP regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and familiarity with Microsoft Access

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Customs Broker License preferred.
- Previous experience in Life Sciences organization a plus
- Knowledge and experience with multiple regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over the company’s trade compliance activities: BIS, CBP, USDA, and FDA a plus.
- Familiarity and understanding of Oracle ERP are a plus.
- Familiarity with Export Management Systems, Oracle GTM a plus
