Your Contribution to Our Mission:

Generate import/export license applications for the Department of State and the Department of Commerce; monitoring and improving compliance with ITAR and EAR

Create and implement ITAR/EAR policies and procedures corporate wide

Track status of all export authorization requests from internal request through Government approval and any ongoing tracking requirements

Prepare Technical Assistance (TAA), Non-Resident Importer of Record approval, Manufacturing License (MLA), Warehousing and Distribution Agreements (WDA), and Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) requests

Maintain records of all technical data transfers, defense services provided, and ITAR exemptions used

Lead/ensure compliance with Technology Control Plan and Export Control Procedures; brief and train employees on license agreement provisos/limitations

Centralize oversight of all export and import transactions to include export documentation as well as import declarations, centralize recordkeeping of all export and import documentation in accordance with ITAR and EAR, centralize oversight of all export licenses and agreements to include applications, use, and expiration and/or termination

Establish and maintain relationships with freight forwarders; create and review shipping documents created by shipping departments, and ensure that appropriate export licenses or license exemptions are applied and shipping documentation is properly maintained in formal export control files

Proactively research, prepare, submit, and communicate the status of export license applications, TAAs, MLAs, WDAs, and other export and import documentation, and working with business units to proactively assist in developing export license strategies

Provide day-to-day assistance to business units on compliance with ITAR, EAR, and OFAC, and other import export laws, as well as associated commercial shipping requirements and documentation

Perform regulatory analysis to help determine proper jurisdiction and appropriate classification of hardware, software, and technology

Develop and implement training programs for compliance and lead/assist in review of policies, procedures, and systems for managing day-to-day import/export compliance

Lead in compliance audits of import/export activities

To Land This Job, You Need:

Bachelor's Degree in related field plus 5 years’ experience; or 9 years’ experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

Experience drafting and submitting export licenses and agreements, interpreting and providing guidance on ITAR and EAR regulations for the licensing of commodities, technologies and defense services, including the use of U.S. Government systems D-Trade and SNAP-R

Experience in use of ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions for export transactions

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with OCR EASE software applications.

Experience in DoD contractor environment

Familiarity with electronic tools such as OCR Ease
