The Nestle Next Governance team is newly-formed, with responsibility for the administration and organizational monitoring of the Nestle Next program. This role will act as the primary gatekeeper in the evaluation of customer trade funding, based on pre-established principles and key performance indicators. Nestle Next establishes a pay-for-performance funding structure for customer trade investment. Enforcement of the program is critical to Nestlé’s ability to grow profitably with our customer base and deliver value to consumers. As the Manager of Trade Compliance, this role will act as the single point of contact for our Field Sales, Commercial Development and RGM teams around customer compliance to their current funding levels. It will report to the Commercial Controller.

Primary Responsibilities:

KPI Development & Reporting

  • Develop standardized reporting that will be used as the source of truth for Field Sales, CD, and RGM. This reporting needs to be specifically focused around customer compliance to the Nestle Next trade funding requirements.
  • Establish customer & business level score carding, which will be used in determining actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Ensure accurate measurement of key performance indicators, as defined in the Nestle Next trade funding framework.
  • Determine current and future reporting needs to drive incremental value to the organization in 2023 and beyond.

Compliance Enforcement

  • Support Commercial Controller in managing total program compliance.
  • Evaluate trade activities being deployed against all funding components and identify areas of non-compliance to the program structure.
  • Ensure that trade overspends are identified, communicated, and addressed with account teams and Commercial Development.
  • Act as a decision maker in the governance process, based on clearly defined decision rights. Facilitate escalation to Commercial Controller, when necessary.
  • Identify and track internal exceptions, where Nestle is accepting customer behavior to operate out of compliance. Ensure all exceptions are time-bound with action plans to drive toward full compliance.

Communication & Influence

  • Establish meaningful, timely communication to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
  • Influence internal stakeholders to drive customer behaviors that are in compliance with Nestlé’s terms of sale and trade funding policies.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with Division Sales Finance Managers and Field Finance Managers to ensure clear visibility to areas of non-compliance. Provide root cause analysis to help drive action plans with the account teams.
  • Determine changes in funding structure as customer performance evolves throughout the year. Provide details to DSFM’s in order to revise account goals, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience and increasing scope and responsibility in Commercial or Functional Finance, Marketing or Sales.
  • Strong understanding in key performance indicators, and the role they play in decision making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in BI/visualization software, i.e., Power BI, Tableau; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
