Collins Aerospace is looking for a Global Trade (GT) Specialist to join the Power & Controls Global Trade team. This individual will work with the GT customs/import team to support various Power & Controls businesses in the U.S. The position will work closely with internal customers and our brokers to facilitate the timely and compliant clearance of imports from our customers, suppliers, and related parties. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, developing relationships with internal customers and collaborating with multiple business functions for success.

This position is considered a remote role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform customs/import entries each day for assigned Power & Controls locations.
  • Broker Activity - work with our brokers to resolve import issues in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Assist the individual businesses in facilitating their critical shipments through the import process, by working with logistics, brokers, forwarders, and our greater global trade team.
  • Perform our AES (Automated Export System) monthly audits, for select sites.
  • Provide timely parts list updates to our brokers required for import clearances.
  • Coordinate ITAR and licensable EAR imports with our authorizations team.
  • Prepare Manufacturing Affidavits (MA's) to support duty savings.
  • Support our duty drawback program.
  • Manage/Support our U.S. CTPAT program with U.S. Customs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Problem solver, able to work under time sensitive circumstances, collaboratively or independently.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).
  • Willingness to take on projects or assignments to solve complex business problems related to customs/imports.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs CTPAT (Trusted Trader Program).
