Full Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the business unit build strong relationships with their customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure all existing customers and potential new customers are fully aware of the Business Unit and company service offer.
  • Develop new business leads and ideas and report these to the Timet Implant Manager.
  • Suggest ideas for the Intranet to publicize general practices within Timet Business Unit.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with the company’s operational procedures and work instructions specific to Timet Business Unit.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through managing their shipments in the correct way and in accordance to the timeframe specified by the customer.
  • Advise customers, where necessary on customs procedures and their applications and all aspects of international trade.
  • Ensure charging out of all consignments and invoice checking is carried out before issuing to customer.
  • Liase with the Finance Business Unit within the time specified in regards to queries on purchase invoices.
  • Quote prices to potential and existing customers as and when required within agreed timescale, in line with company strategy and within Limits of Authority.
  • To pass on all other types of enquiry, not related to the service of Timet Business Unit to other appropriate Business Unit Managers.
  • Ensure files are charged out monthly in accordance with customer and company requirements

Formal Qualifications

Essential

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (USA)
  • 5 GCSE A-C or equivalent (UK)
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to work and travel independently

Desirable

  • Degree in logistics, supply chain or associated field

Specific Functional Competences, Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential

  • Experience in Air/Ocean Freight operations within a freight forwarding company or demonstrates the ability to learn
  • Experience of Air/Ocean freight trade-lanes and markets (Americas/APAC/Europe) or demonstrates the ability to learn
  • Operational experience of Air/Ocean Freight planning processes or simular planning aplication
  • Good knowledge of Air/Ocean Transport regulations or ability to learn
  • Good inter-personal skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking
  • Good analytical and numerical skills

Desirable

  • Previous automotive logistics experience

Basic knowledge of USA domestic and NAFTA Road Transport
