C J International is a Customs Broker and International Freight Forwarder with over 30 years of experience providing personalized and professional service to importers and exporters nationwide. Prior experience in transportation and logistics industry is not required but is beneficial. After a period of training, you’ll be assigned a slate of regular clients. An experienced Export Specialist usually manages numerous shipments at any given time, in varying stages of the process. A shipment can be in process, from start to finish, for 30 to 60 days. But don’t worry, we’ll ease you in gradually.

You’ll work in an open office environment and communicate with clients, carriers, and other C J team members by phone, fax, and email. The ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks is vital. You’ll use a computer for data entry, email communications, document management, and research. During your training period you’ll be closely supervised, but as you gain experience and training, you’ll gradually be expected to manage your workload independently. But you’ll always be working in a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, and the team is always available to assist.


Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. You’ll be communicating with clients, carriers, and other C J team members all day, and clarity is vital.

Exceptional attention to detail. For example, arranging a delivery to Memphis, Tennessee instead of Memphis, Egypt would be an expensive mistake.

Strong organizational skills. You will be managing a large quantity of shipping documents, and documentation is a critical part of international logistics.

Data entry with high level of accuracy. For example, the capital of MN and the capital of NM are over 1000 miles apart.

Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with clients and vendors, especially in sometimes stressful situations. Our clients expect us to be the calm at the center of the storm.

Be comfortable with performing basic math calculations. It’s not rocket science, but accuracy is critical, and we'll teach you what you need to know.
