Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.


It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.


Job Description:

  • The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst serves as the primary liaison between the US Transportation Organization and the franchises for Trade Compliance.
  • The Senior Trade Compliance Operations Analyst provides expert advice to business stakeholders/partners on logistics processes and procedures to comply with US Customs and Border Protection, FDA, DOT, and other regulatory compliance agencies governing the clearance of import and export shipments.
  • They will be responsible for identifying and implementing Trade Compliance opportunities to participate in duty savings opportunities including duty drawbacks, foreign trade zones, and free trade agreements
  • They will identify opportunities for process improvements and standardize across the business where appropriate
  • Develop Quarterly Trade Compliance reviews and deliver them to key stakeholders
  • Determine classification of products and ensure proper payment of duty
  • Provide direction to the company’s importers and exporters on documentation requirements to comply with Federal government agencies’ requirements for international shipments
  • Establish proactive processes to determine the classification of products and ensure proper payment of duty before shipment arrival.
  • Maintain the Global classification database and the company’s internal systems, as required, to communicate product information to freight forwarders and Customs Brokers to affect government agencies.
  • Respond to transactional inquiries from customs brokers for products which require additional information to be cleared for importation into the US
  • Manage and Monitor communications to respond to Government agency inquiries, and serve as liaison between Customs Broker and Regulatory Affairs to resolve FDA holds and Notices of Action.
  • Develop corrective action plans for non-conformances


Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent University degree is required.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant Trade Compliance experience or other related compliance function is required
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and root cause analysis skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with and influence across a cross-functional, global structure
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Requirements/Competencies:

  • Strong partnering experience demonstrated by creating new relationships that drive cross-functional process improvements
  • Results-oriented with a strong track record of success in delivering on objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to embrace learning regulatory requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
