Job Summary

Leads Operational management of Logistics in US, Canada and Mexico. Ensuring efficient and effective material movements within, inbound or outbound. Manages a team of direct and indirect resources to secure, safe, compliant reliable and cost effective service that meets customer and affiliate commitments. Continuous improvement mindset seeks to improve Service, Cost, and Safety at all times. Works on effectively managing growth opportunities and integrating to Operations

(Job Responsibilities)

  • Recruits High performance Team. Leads and develops direct reports – establishes annual goals and objectives, conducts annual performance review, participates in annual talent planning process and provides regular coaching and feedback to team
  • Sets yearly budgetary targets and ensures clear cost alignment per BU. Manages costs using cost dashboards for the providers to achieve budgetary goals by BU, Mode and 3rd Party Logistics Service Provider
  • Holds quarterly reviews with upper management and the provider’s upper management team to ensure safety, quality, service, and financial goals are met. Manage services using service dashboards for the providers to achieve service goals
  • Compliance – Meets required regulations to ensure compliant service. Including regular self-audits of processes, external regulatory audits and internal audits. Conduct risk Assessments to ensure service is stable, reliable and agile.
  • Drives effective balance of service levels and cost to serve in logistics – ensuring margin and desired service levels are maintained. Reviews network at least twice a year to ensure costs, footprints, services and locations meet the company's strategic needs
  • Actively seeks and utilizes specific knowledge of the logistics market, trends and capabilities to identify areas for service enhancements, cost saving opportunities
  • Participates in negotiations to secure contract awards. Participant in Order to Cash Councils / Total Cost Out forums


What Matters to SABIC

(Job Requirements)

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years work experience in Supply Chain
  • 3-5 years in International Trade, Warehousing, Logistics (Truck, Rail, Ocean and/or Air)
  • 3-5 years of experience in imports/exports and compliance
  • High process orientation and analytical approach to problem solving. Preferred experience in Six Sigma with capability of Statistical analysis (span, standard deviation, cycle times)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong financial acumen; comfortable developing budgets and identifying variance drivers with ability to course correct
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to execute
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools especially Excel & PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated successful experience in leadership roles with increasing responsibilities
