We’re currently looking for a Customs Compliance Analyst to join our team in Franklin, TN to support NNA’s Customs, trade and content-related regulatory compliance programs, internal reviews, and external audits pertaining to vehicles, after-market sales parts, production parts, pre-production goods, machinery and equipment, and compliance for NNA’s Foreign Trade Zones. Acts cross-functionally to support FTA and other cost reduction objectives, import supply change facilitation and compliance. Ensure compliance with all applicable US government import/export regulations.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Perform and/or assist with Import/Export compliance activities, including, but not limited to special programs (FTZ, ISA, C-TPAT), USHTS classifications for production parts, service parts, machinery and equipment, US Customs requests for information, content and FTA solicitation and qualification, Value and NAFTA reconciliation, daily broker compliance audits, and periodic regulatory, financial, and operational compliance reviews.
Perform and/or assist with a wide range of Customs compliance and operational activities to ensure that NNA's imports/exports of raw material, goods, and manufactured products comply with applicable US import/export laws and regulations.
Update and maintain internal compliance procedures for related activities.
Similar activities may be required for NNA affiliates and subsidiaries in the Americas.
Analyze and apply operational and regulatory information to prepare reports for management, external service providers, and the US government.
Perform any other department related tasks as may be assigned.
2+ years of directly related professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, international trade, or a related discipline.
Ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information and make sound and accurate conclusions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, particularly strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience reviewing, monitoring, and continuously improving trade compliance policies and procedures preferred.
Knowledge of US and foreign customs procedures and requirements preferred.
Strong Harmonized System (Schedule B) classification experience preferred.
Working knowledge of customs duty drawback, trade, content and origin regulations, and compliance activities including knowledge of Foreign Trade Zones, Customs Valuation, Foreign Trade Agreements, County of Origin, and other customs/import related compliance matters under US law preferred.
License for Customs Brokerage in good standing with CBP is preferred.
Working knowledge of ACE, in particularly AES, ACE Portal, and ABI preferred.
