Job Purpose

The Senior Export Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the company’s U.S. export compliance program, including compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC and Foreign Trade laws and regulations. This position will report to the Senior Manager, U.S. Export Compliance.


Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Advises and supports U.S. plant personnel on all aspects of export compliance.
  • Acts as the primary administrator for the company’s AES account; monitors export filings and trains personnel on AES filing requirements.
  • Maintains the Oracle repository for export and Schedule B/tariff classifications.
  • Conducts license determination reviews and releases Oracle export holds in accordance with established criteria.
  • Prepares export license applications, as required.
  • Reviews export classifications for technical documentation to determine licensing requirements.
  • Reviews and resolves restricted party screenings and red flags.
  • Conducts foreign national visitor screenings and deemed export reviews.
  • Assists in self-audits of the company’s U.S. exports.
  • Updates and maintains the intranet page to reflect changes in export compliance policies and tools.
  • Provides support on special compliance projects, as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in U.S. export compliance
  • Must have solid working knowledge of the EAR, ITAR and Foreign Trade Regulations
  • Strong jurisdiction/classification skills across the U.S. Munitions List and the EAR Control List
  • Experience in managing automated trade compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong data analytic skills; adept in use of ACE and AES
  • Strong Excel skills; Oracle experience preferred

Locations: San Jose, CA (hybrid remote and in person) or other locations will be considered.
