Talend is looking for an experienced, senior level, Securities-Corporate and Compliance Counsel to be a part of our highly motivated, tightly knit, and collaborative legal team.


In this position, you will take on a range of legal work, with a particular focus on corporate and securities and non-equity incentive law matters, corporate governance, M&A and other strategic transactions, executive compensation, and regulatory and compliance matters. We are looking for a high performer who is a self-starter, adaptable, team-oriented, deeply trained in corporate law, and operates with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality. Success at Talend requires a roll-up your sleeves, “get it done well” attitude, lots of initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with lots of change and ambiguity.

What you'll be working on.....

  • Manage company plans and advise on a range of securities law and non-security, long term incentive matters, and reporting requirements including 1933 and 1934 Act and various state blue sky rules.
  • Design, implement, and maintain best corporate governance practices for Talend’s global holding companies, parent company and subsidiaries.
  • Assist in preparing Board of Director and Committee materials and minutes, maintenance of corporate reporting and governance calendar, and subsidiary Board slates.
  • Assist with capital markets transactions (private equity and debt offerings).
  • Help lead all aspects of strategic M&A and other business and legal initiatives across the company.
  • Help with other projects as assigned by the Talend’s Chief Legal Officer and company leaders
  • IPO experience a plus

A little bit about you.....

  • At least 5-10 years of law firm (corporate and securities practice) and/or in-house experience
  • A J.D. and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Experience with brand-name private equity firms and their portfolio companies a plus
  • Experience with corporate finance, corporate governance, board matters, and SEC disclosure practice
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skill
  • Highly confident, articulate and self-motivated individual who is a team player
  • International mindset and experience working in non-US jurisdictions; fluency in a foreign language is a plus
  • Experience with corporate finance, corporate governance, board matters, and SEC disclosure practice
  • Experience in export and trade compliance laws, FCPA compliance, or other regulatory and compliance law matters a plus
  • Experience leading or various aspects of M&A transactions and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business-oriented, creative solutions to novel issues
  • Extremely well-organized, self-motivated and a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written skills with a keen attention to detail

Although the role is listed as San Mateo, it can be based anywhere in the US.
