How will you make an impact?

This role supports site procurement processes from vendor establishment through purchase order issuance. Serves as site based administrative support - work, working with visitors and assisting staff with some administrative duties.

What will you do?

  • Assists with managing inventory of administrative supplies.
  • Provides purchasing support for administrative, laboratory, facility, warehouse and production needs.
  • Works with purchase requestors to identify appropriate vendors and establishes those vendors in purchasing system.
  • Generates purchase requisitions, secures appropriate levels of approval and issues Purchase Orders.
  • Writes and maintains department procedures, ensuring compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAPs), SOX Act, Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Trade Compliance (GTC) guidelines, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Evaluates procurement processes for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support audits of procurement system as needed.
  • Follows all appropriate SOPs, Good Documentation Practices, and Data Integrity procedures. Exhibits the 4i Values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement). Performs other responsibilities as necessary.

Education:

High School diploma or GED required.

Experience:

One to two years of experience in office environment or similar preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience and competency with working in an office environment adhering to specific regulations (e.g., legal, accounting, medical), preferably with prior Procurement experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Procurement or Inventory software preferred.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously and in cross-functional groups.
  • Self-motivated, meticulous, and organized. Agile and flexible with regard to project timelines.
