JOB SUMMARY

Livingston is looking for a passionate and talented Data Architect to drive new and innovative concepts into our business. This role utilizes the data lake platform and its data assets that are built & maintained by the Data Analytics team. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Amazon Web Services and understanding infrastructure in a cloud setup, as well as an independent thinker able to explore new ideas and solutions. This is a remote position.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the entire lifecycle from analysis, design, and development through testing, deployment, and support of solutions.
  • Closely partner with Data Products and Business Intelligence & Analytics teams to deliver value for both internal and external clients.
  • Understand business needs and identify opportunities to employ best practices around tools supported by the Data Analytics team. Because data platforms at Livingston have a 24/7 requirement this role may coordinate and assign tasks to offshore resources.
  • Develop the business's centralized data repository including tasks, but not limited to:
  • Generating code/queries/scripts that leverage many enterprise and public data sources into a central model maintained in data lake
  • Identify new data sources and facilitate data pipeline creation and complete data extraction from source systems
  • Oversee documentation of processes in order to optimize and systemically approach improvement and revisions to execute best practices
  • Participate business transformation initiatives from concept, through testing, to final implementation in order to move other employees/teams to a data driven environment
  • Assist in the definition, design and delivery of new data sources and pipelines within the Livingston Data Hub and additional related applications.
  • Document, monitor, and revise product requirements, process maps, use cases, user acceptance test plans, project plans, and release notes in support of application development.
  • Serve as Data Analytics subject matter expert in assisting the broader IT group in the resolution of roadblocks hindering product delivery and post-deployment support.
  • Collect and analyze data to contribute to data architecture direction to create/execute on a backlog of user stories that often require collaboration with business partners to define requirements on that backlog.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Must have solid understanding of the development life cycle of data products.
  • Can develop hypotheses, identify data, and analyze results needed to prove or disprove hypotheses affecting business performance
  • Up to date background on data science, architecture, and engineering tooling, techniques and industry trends.
  • AWS resources which includes, EC2, VPC, CloudFront, Cloud Watch, S3, Storage gateway, Autoscaling, Athena, Glue, Redshift. Knowledge of Terraform and Kinesis a plus
  • Ability to balance various priorities, manage resources & timelines, and plan tasks accordingly for developers, architects, and analysts
  • Must be able to think in abstract terms in order to understand how systems work together even when documentation is lacking; a strong mathematical/logical ability and interest is necessary.
  • Intellectual curiosity; should enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify issues and solve problems
  • Environment is that of a small team within a large organization, meaning that the confidence and ability to work independently when necessary is a must while collaboration both a leader and equal team member is required.
  • Track record of using Agile and/or Kanban methodologies

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

7 years of related experience
