Full Job Description

Responsible for providing leadership and support for International Logistics, Customs Compliance, and Import Coordinators.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage daily operations.
  • Track supplemental field costs and follow up with relevant staff when needed.
  • Work with external 3rd party transportation vendors to ensure company objectives are being met.
  • Analyze, share, and maintain all internal transportation metrics such as landed cost, container unloading, delivery and dwell times to minimize import detention cost.
  • Monitor workflow peak periods to ensure timelines are met and policies are adhered to.
  • Managestafftimetables and coverage.
  • Work with and support all related internal departments (US, Canada, and Mexico) Accounting, Product Managers, Customs Compliance Operations, and Global Compliance Team.
  • Interact with staff (US. Mexico and Canada) to insure smooth successful cross-border operation with a focus on continued process improvement.
  • Support Management in annual bid process-ocean freight and brokerage.
  • Assist Mgr Compliance as a contact for a customs broker to ensure the proper declaration of customs information and discrepancy resolution to ensure timely processing of entries.
  • Assist with government inquiries, requests for information, and audits.
  • Assist in corrective action recommendations for non-compliance with any policies, laws, regulations, or contract requirements.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience:

  • High School graduate/ G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 5+ year’s related experience required.
  • 5+ years of International Transportation, Freight Forwarding knowledge.
  • Ocean, Truck, and Air Freight are a must. Prior Supervisory or Leadership experience.
  • Experience with contract analysis
  • Education in Supply Chain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Preferred 2-3 years of International Logistics and or customs brokerage and freight forwarding Knowledge.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Import operational and customer services experience within the international freight forwarding industry.
  • Process driven.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick sound decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office skills including excel and outlook.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Office environment, requires walking, standing, or sitting for several hours at a time.
  • Perform repetitive motion tasks on a computer.
  • Must have the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruption.
  • Be attentive to detail.
  • May require occasional travel.
