This position is an exciting and new opportunity that is currently part of Medtronic and will move to a to-be-named company we are calling “NewCo”. NewCo will be an independent company with equal partners, Medtronic & DaVita. It will be established in calendar 2023 as a new company (NewCo) formed from Medtronic’s Renal Care Solutions Operating Unit focused on providing innovative technologies to support kidney care patients. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo your employment will transfer to NewCo and you will no longer be employed by Medtronic.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee Supply Chain and Procurement responsibilities for critical R&D Project.
  • Work with team to evaluate and select 3PL partner for project.
  • Work directly with 3PL to drive and execute logistics support of product supply for Clinical Trials of new product.
  • Drive accountability for Suppliers and 3PL by implementing KPI’s and measurements of execution related to project.
  • Maintain, optimize, and closely track inventory in complex global network
  • Work with the project core team lead to update and deliver on project goals and objectives during each phase.
  • Create integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.
  • Responsible for monitoring and achieving the Supply Chain project budget.
  • Develop strong relationship with multiple suppliers located globally.
  • Work closely with Trade Compliance, Export and Transportation teams to ensure timely delivery of product to multiple global destinations.
  • Identify potential project risks and deploy mitigation actions.
  • Prepare timely and efficient project reports, status reports, properly document project tools & deliverables
  • Report regularly to Senior Leadership on status of project including timelines, budget and KPI’s
  • Position will initially mange the NPD execution of Clinical Trials and will migrate to managing the portfolio once product is commercialized.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience


Nice to Have

  • Experience with 3PL Logistics providers
  • 7+ years of project/program management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of project/program management experience.
  • Experience in medical device development and/or other highly regulated industry (medical device preferred).
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including influencing skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software, including project management software such as MS Project.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Experience in software design, development, and verification testing.
  • Project Management certification (PMP)
  • Dynamic team player and leader that can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
