The newly organized Authorizations and Transfers Requirements team in Pratt & Whitney’s Global Trade organization is looking for a strategic thinking Global Trade professional to lead our team that is responsible for imports and intangible transfers. We work directly with Global Trade professionals throughout P&W and RTX and with the general population at Pratt & Whitney to develop and implement requirements that enable P&W to carry out global business activities while efficiently and effectively complying with Global Trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Trade requirements development and maintenance in certain Customs related disciplines, including the below:

  • Broker management
  • CBP (Customs and Border Patrol), CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) and other global Customs regulations and activities
  • Preferential Duty programs
  • Free Trade Agreements (FTA)
  • Duty reconciliation
  • Post entry reviews
  • Customs security programs, such as CTPAT

Global Trade requirements development and maintenance in certain intangible transfers related areas, including

  • Facility Management
  • Visitor Management
  • International Travel

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Open minded assessment and modification of processes with the goal of optimally balancing risk and compliance
  • Oversee expansion of duty drawback program
  • Oversee HS Classification Center of Excellence and related procedures
  • Co-lead development of P&W Customs Focal program
  • Co-lead completion and deployment of Global Customs Procedure
  • Nurture and enhance collaboration with the P&W Global Customs Community
  • Work closely with various P&W business areas to provide guidance and solutions for global trade activities
  • Develop and update guidance on global trade regulations and company policies within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Participate in RTX Global Customs activities
  • Oversee development, maintenance, and reporting of KPIs and metrics for areas of responsibility
  • Apply regulations and policies to troubleshoot and problem solve specific transaction scenarios
  • Advise and support SAP/GTS project implementation
  • Oversee transactional testing and other health monitoring activities within areas of responsibility
  • Create opportunities for development within the team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent and minimum of 12+ years prior experience or Masters' Degree and minimum 10+ years experience in the application of global customs regulations in a business setting, preferably manufacturing
  • Licensed Customs Broker preferred
  • US Citizenship or US Person for government contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post graduate degree preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of Import and Export Regulations
  • Ability to lead a dynamic team with multiple areas of responsibility
  • Ability to make risk-based compliance decisions
  • Interest in creating development opportunities for GT pros seeking them
  • Working knowledge of SAP/GTS preferred
