JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The IT Applications Manager – Finance is accountable for the implementation and operation of the Company’s Finance areas in Workday. This position will work closely with business leaders across the Company to understand business requirements, provide strategic vision and help align priorities. This position will also work with members of IT to ensure the Workday Finance application fits into the technical infrastructure and digital strategy, while ensuring cyber security processes and tools are in place to protect the overall computing environment and critical data. This is both a ‘hands-on’ and leadership role which will have visibility at all levels of the company.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Overall ownership for the Serve as the IS partner supporting Finance areas in Workday, including FP&A reporting, Expenses, Procurement, Projects, etc.
  • Serve as the Finance partner supporting consultation to consultation to Financials COEs, building domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities
  • Partners with business functions to define, determine, analyze, document and communicate the objectives, business requirements and priorities for information systems and solutions; works with application and technical experts on the solution design, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the Workday Financial system
  • Approve master data values in Workday across areas of responsibility
  • Drive deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, ensuring client requirements are met
  • Evaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancements
  • Lead the Workday support team ensuring day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects
  • Lead governance process, roadmapping exercises and governance, cross-functional resource planning
  • Overall accountability for data governance, security and compliance
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities
  • Provides application configuration and project management support
  • Ensures proper security measures are implemented to protect computing resources and critical data, while maximizing system uptime.
  • Leads and conducts requirements management activities, as necessary. Seeks out and analyzes information regarding the impact of changes within or between departments, ensuring that the effects of changes are well understood and approved by all of the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Leads and conducts solution assessment and validation to ensure that functional and technical specifications meet the identified business needs
  • Reviews test plans and testing methodology to mitigate risks and participates in testing the solution to ensure the solution meets functional and non-functional requirements within the organization
  • Conducts complex problem analysis and resolution as needed. Acts as a point of escalation for complex, non-routine problems.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with both business leaders and other functions involved in downstream technical processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Freight forwarding industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with EDI is a plus.
  • Experience related to implementation and management of enterprise Financial applications
  • Understanding of Finance operations and experience in Finance data management and reporting
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex topics for target audiences
  • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities
  • Project planning, management, risk monitoring and mitigation

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to speak more than one language is not required but is considered a plus. The candidate will be encouraged to learn as part of their responsibilities additional languages.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
