What Global Trade Operations & Logistics contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Trade is responsible for the design, implementation and execution of policies, programs and platforms to enable compliant and efficient international movement of products and technologies.


Global Trade Operations & Logistics is responsible for strategic planning, design and operational execution to facilitate compliant, secure and effective international shipments including: agency relationship management, product classification, license determination, customs and other agency clearance, logistic partner management, and international freight payment.


Responsibilities

  • To manage global ocean on assigned trade-lanes including support global bidding, lead mini-bid, own new lane set up (contracting the lanes with carriers), carrier leakage management, special sourcing program such as trans-load /CFS program.
  • To be the commercial owner of Carrier management: engage in Scorecard/QBR/MBR with carriers, leverage and balance carrier strategy for best cost/service balance.
  • To be the commercial owner of carriers, POC of escalation for CAH’s internal business stakeholders, address the concerns, suggestions from the operation, region, business, finance with deeply understanding of the business expectations, and carriers’ service level (routing, transit, reliability)
  • To manage global ocean on assigned trade-lanes including support global bidding, own mini-bid, new lane set up, carrier leakage management, special trans-load /CFS program
  • To develop and improve sourcing process in the managed mode/trade lane: Sourcing integrity and compliance program; Transportation modelling (network design) for optimized routings.
  • To manage transportation budget for the managed mode and trade-lane, define the saving and cost avoidance opportunities and projects. Benchmarking the rates with market and constantly pivot for cost competitiveness; Understand the finance rules of savings and cost avoidance, manage the saving and initiative projects and to quantify for business and finance.
  • To support the monthly Logistics Sourcing Business Scorecard on financials and savings, performance, special program and initiatives.
  • To engage with cross functional business units on Logistics initiatives as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • To engage in forecasting initiatives with origins and planning for inbound containers and support last mile strategic capacity planning. To build forecasting variance model, RCA of defects and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Global Trade (Ocean Transportation/Sourcing) preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Anticipated salary range: $63,200 - $90,300
