The Manager, Software Engineering, DevOps will lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers responsible for solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative delivery environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Keep abreast of new technologies and advancements in the DevOps and Engineering spaces.
  • Work with stakeholders, project management, information security and infrastructure team to define business requirements and project goals
  • Ability to stay on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
  • Are interested in implementing a DevOps strategy that ensures scalability, reliability, and quality for our continuous integration pipeline utilizing the cloud, virtual machines
  • Manage work teams responsible for ensuring the quality and scalability of development outputs
  • Provide development oversight to work teams
  • Diagnose and provide solutions to recurring problems that require special attention.
  • Support the creation of documentation as it relates to software products
  • Foster open communication and fast feedback with development teams to improve developer efficiency and workflows
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education/ Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent). 8-10 years of related work experience, with 3-5 years of leading a team. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Security experience - VPN, SSL, work with security advisors (first level for any security threats, white/black box evaluation/pen tests).
  • Data management experience (SQL and NoSQL DBs, AWS RDS).
  • Ability to utilize programming languages like Golang and Python, and Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
  • Have experience managing local and remote teams responsible for projects in a variety of programming languages.
  • Experience with reliability engineering - monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
  • Experience with EDI technology
  • Experience with Pega
  • Experience creating OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Experience with APIs, gateway security, REST, and SOAP
  • Experience with modern operations technologies and network troubleshooting
  • Good project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, especially AWS, including principles of Infrastructure As Code.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts.
  • Ability to present to groups across the organization.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Availability to respond to security alerts outside of business hours.
  • Ability to manage personnel
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
