  • Owning and managing selected Regional Logistics responsibilities with minimal support from more senior staff
  • Interfacing with internal and external partners to validate account numbers, account status and to process payments; partners routinely include Accounts Payable, Distribution Centers, manufacturing sites, Logistics Support Providers, freight forwarders, Global Order Fulfillment, Sales and Service Managers, International Trade Compliance and Accounting.
  • Researching and resolving basic logistics related challenges as they arise
  • Participate in and provide leadership for driving Freight Cost Reduction, Freight Cost Allocation and Freight Reporting Initiatives, across all Business Entities and all levels of Management at PKI.
  • Maximize freight expense data capture to enable complete and accurate reporting and analyses.
  • Leverage routine and unscheduled communication tools with shipping site leadership, carrier partners, freight audit and payment facilitators, and accounts payable teams.
  • Maintaining communication with carrier partners to include account executives and billing contacts to facilitate timely information flow and root cause analysis for payments errors or delays.
  • Produce monthly reports and reconcile to PKI weekly payment and monthly Financial Reports. Identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and reconciling key performance reports including Freight Audit and Payment exceptions, timely processing metrics, and carrier aging.
  • Assist in maintaining and driving continuous improvements across PerkinElmer’s global logistics network, both internally at PKI and in concert with our Preferred Logistics Providers: as a Participant as well as Project Team Leader.
  • Performing other tasks and responsibilities as needed to support our customers, the Logistics and Materials Management team and our internal and external partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in customer order/import/export/distribution processes and policies is strongly preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong capability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English is required
  • Strong systems and analytical skills, with ability to gather facts, figures and concepts into a concise management summary with recommendations and action plans.
  • Ability to interact effectively and respectfully in a global, multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong facilitation, multi-tasking, collaboration and self-management skills.
  • Ability to execute action plans, with success, as an individual or as a Leader in a Team environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.


  • Knowledge of ERP systems (ideally in SAP) is preferred.
  • Proven time management, prioritization and flexibility skills to balance shifting priorities.
