Full Job Description

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for handling materials, receiving, and shipping products both domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick/pull orders by acquiring material/products from inventory
  • Use material handling equipment as required to pick product, i.e., hand truck and motorized pallet truck. Will undergo training to be licensed on a walkie/rider and electric pallet truck. Additional training to operate other equipment may be initiated as required.
  • Ship product in order management system according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Place bookings with freight forwarders and arrange export transportation according to shipping requirements
  • Coordinate with forwarder and relevant internal departments
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations regarding Import/ Export activities including shipments of product, components or services.
  • Complete and maintain proper records according to company policy regarding Global Trade Compliance
  • Examine, sort, arrange, count and pack items for storage in accordance with established procedures
  • Receive materials and/or finished goods. Verify the quality, type and quantity of materials received are accurate and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
  • Complete proper paperwork and use ERP software to indicate quantities issued and Lots/serial numbers being picked. Move orders to the appropriate staging area. Perform all required warehouse transactions in the inventory management system.
  • Routinely push and pull pallets of materials in a warehouse environment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Regularly climb and reach
  • Satisfactorily complete training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to site including, but not limited to, Control of Documents and Quality Policy.
  • Align with all warehouse safety procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties (5S areas)
  • Work required overtime based on business needs
  • May perform other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required

Experience:

  • Must possess export knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and safely
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience using warehouse equipment (Order picker, Stacker, Pallet jack)
  • Previous experience using an ERP System
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and 5S theories and principles
  • Functional knowledge of shipping and inventory control procedures
  • General understanding and experience with Global Trade Compliance

Physical and Environmental Requirements:


Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures; is required to lift up to 50 lbs. and may be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
