he Vice President/Senior Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Compliance leader will manage to develop and implement Climate Technologies' global regulatory compliance programs, including international trade compliance, antitrust compliance, product environmental/materials compliance, anti-corruption compliance, data privacy and security, and environmental compliance, and led the global regulatory compliance organization. This is an exciting opportunity within our Commercial Residentials Business Unit.

As a Vice President/Senior Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Compliance, You Will:

  • Develops, implements, manages and oversees overall global compliance program concerning international trade compliance, antitrust compliance, product environmental/materials compliance, anti-corruption compliance, data privacy and security, and environmental compliance
  • Oversees environmental compliance strategies at our facilities, including air, water, and waste compliance programs
  • Assists business units in developing and implementing compliance procedures to address these legal areas
  • Reviews business unit programs to ensure the implemented procedures are adequate and working
  • Provides regular training to business unit personnel concerning applicable regulations, Emerson’s policies and procedures, and best practices
  • Conducts regulatory compliance due diligence concerning new acquisitions

Leadership of Global Regulatory Compliance Organization

  • Responsible for building, managing, and developing the global regulatory compliance legal team comprised of 15-20 compliance professionals around the world
  • Responsible for oversight of embedded business unit compliance personnel
  • Serves as chief legal liaison to the internal audit and investigations group and serves on the compliance committee

Legal Advice:

  • Serves as the company’s primary legal counsel for export law, import law, trade sanctions, and embargoes, FCPA, supply chain security programs, antitrust, anti-corruption, REACH, RoHS, WEEE. California Prop 65, extended producer responsibility, global data privacy, and any other number of laws and regulations relating to the above portfolio of compliance programs
  • Stays up to date on legal and regulatory developments relating to Emerson’s compliance program and communicates relevant developments as appropriate throughout the company
  • Develops and gives training to Emerson employees relating to applicable regulations and material changes
  • Provides legal advice concerning regulatory compliance issues that are escalated by business units

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Ten-plus years of progressive legal experience in a global environment
  • Experience with the development and implementation of global compliance programs in the corporate environment in one or more regulatory compliance areas
  • Law degree
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills; additional language skills are considered a plus
  • Prepared to travel
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Twenty years of progressive legal experience in a global environment
  • Experience working in the manufacturing or industrial organization
