Sr. Manager International Logistics
Summary
The primary function of this position is to lead and manage the International Logistics department, including the selection of service providers, negotiating services and rate agreements for international ocean and air carriage, and import container drayage; and to ensure that Carhartt’s International program meets compliance standards for US, Canada and all other global areas in which we sell goods. This includes assisting Carhartt colleagues and customers to execute successful importation/exportation processes.

Responsibilities
Coach, mentor and develop the International Logistics team.
Budget and KPI Leadership: Oversee team budget by ensuring accurate monthly/quarterly guidance and connect marketing actions/investments to brand leading outcomes/KPI's to drive continuous improvement and align with overall corporate performance.
Monitor the global shipping environment, capacity trends, ocean shipping routes, origin consolidation programs, etc.
Manage selection of service providers and negotiating services and rates for Carhartt competitive advantage. Developing and managing relationships with current and prospective service providers. (Ocean, Air, Truck, 3PLs, etc.)
Develop a team to assist in establishing, documenting and implementing a global vendor training program specific to the Carhartt Logistics Program.
Manage ad-hoc projects from development through completion
Oversee the global processes and procedures, and ensure the standard implementation in all business units for: training relevant to job function, due diligence processes, and processes that lend themselves to global implementation.
Oversee the development and maintenance of the standard operating procedures covering the import/export compliance program.
Recommend/implement business best practices and operational changes within Carhartt as appropriate.
Provide decision support on day to day operations for North America, Central America, EMEA, and APAC as required.
Deliver improvement of costs and/or import operations, such as lead times, year over year.
Education
Bachelor's Degree Required in Business or Related Field
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Skills and Experience
10 years’ experience in international logistics including Ocean, Air, and over the road transportation dealing with stakeholders, senior management, and external influencers.
Certified Export Specialist required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
SAP operating experience preferred
Outstanding organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills
