Trade Compliance Coordinator is responsible for effectively and efficiently support the Customer Logistics operations by providing support with regards to trade compliance. This role will be the local subject matter expert for HTS codes, ECCNs, Free Trade Agreements, and other CBP regulations to ensure smooth and cost-effective transactions ensuring prompt and compliant deliveries of goods.
The Trade Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for entry audits. Audits will include but are not limited to, valuation, classification, quantity, country of origin, classification, and participation in special programs. Must be familiar with international and domestic transport methods as well as local special Customs related programs and ensure proper submission of accurate data for participation in cost savings opportunities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct Audits/Report findings
Trade compliance audits per global/regional compliance directives
Support any Import/Export Post Entry Work
Incudes responses to CF28 and CF29 or other requests for information by USCBP as directed by the Inbound Logistics Supervisor or Regional Trade Compliance Manager
Support Country of origin determination for production material
Free Trade Agreement qualification and preparation of Certificates of Origin
Operational Support as defined by global/regional compliance with US Customs related queries. Including but not limited to:
HTS
Schedule B
ECCN Classification
Special Program Qualification
Assist and Kit reporting
Backup to Supervisor for coordinating monthly ACH Duty payment processing with Metso Finance/Accounting
All other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Adherence to work instructions for all compliance activities
Support various metrics and monitoring programs related to assigned responsibilities.
Initiate and/or support continuous improvement projects
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Education:
Associates degree preferred.
Experience:
2 Years experience in classification and Free Trade Agreements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Data driven and strong analytical skill.
Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office products
Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision
