Export Consulting & Compliance Specialist is responsible for creating and building a dynamic Export Consulting program. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for export compliance, interfacing with internal and external customers to provide guidance and assistance.

Export Consulting & Compliance Specialist responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Create and build a dynamic Export Consulting program
• Interface and contribute knowledge with internal and external customers in export trade compliance matters
• Lead in sales and business development activities including making daily calls to prospects, joining calls with prospects, preparing presentations, responding to RFQ’s, drafting proposals and SOWs, and determining pricing
• Gather and analyze information efficiently and develop cost effective and practical export compliance programs
• Assign Schedule B and ECCN codes to new and existing products
• Assist customers in establishing an export customs compliance manual
• Deliver presentations and training, field customer questions, assist in developing best practices, work with internal partners to refine and streamline our technology
• Serve as a subject matter expert for export compliance, providing advice and guidance on compliance, policies and procedures
• Participate in trade compliance meetings and discussions at the business, group and corporate level and manage multiple projects
• Provide expert guidance and strategic recommendations to our leads and our customers
• Review and identify export compliance issues and mitigate risk
• Drive continuous improvement ensuring best practice sharing and constant drive for cost excellence
• Keep current with developing trends, new regulations and export programs

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field of study or equivalent education plus work experience
• 3 years’ relevant experience in Export rules and regulations
• 3 years’ experience in selling export compliance programs and calling prospects
• Previous experience developing and implementing export training programs
• Previous experience with transportation management systems/software; CargoWise preferred
• Ability to conceptualize, create and implement an export consulting program
• Strong working knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance with export laws and regulations and audit practices
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Highly self-motivated, results-driven and strategically minded
• Excited by fast pace of the customs and logistics business
• Possess a strong business acumen
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
