Customer Service Representative, Export Compliance
Position Summary:
The Export Customer Service Representative is responsible to provide export compliance regulation for North American order management business. They also provide integrated, quality service to customers in the areas or price quotations, material applications, stock availability and machined product availability to ensure efficient execution of the order fulfillment process.
Key Accountabilities:
Export Compliance Delegate - North America. Includes reviewing all export orders and approving all export shipments for NA business. Must ensure compliance with export regulations; documentation, trade restrictions; valuations, and protect SGL Carbon's proprietary rights.
Prepare and submit export license applications as needed.
Inco Terms knowledge and trainer as needed.
Develops business partnerships with customers based on trust and aligned with SGL strategic sales and profit objectives.
Develops and communicates timely price quotations, utilizing internal cost estimating tools and aligned with established pricing policies.
Provides marketing/sales support by collecting, analyzing and communicating pertinent customer and market trend information.
Monitors finished goods inventory for respective customers to ensure levels conform to prescribed inventory guidelines.
Proactively analyzes customer needs. Develops alternate feeder stock utilization or additional manufacturing site scenarios where applicable that satisfy customer needs while maximizing profitability.
Supports Marketing by providing sales data, margin analysis, and materials utilization data to aid in the implementation of new pricing strategies for key accounts.
Enters all customer purchase orders in SAP for all required manufacturing sites.
Process customer complaint returns and credits.
Performs other duties as required in support of the Sales department's goals.
Your Profile:
Associate Degree in relevant discipline. Bachelor's degree preferred
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
Knowledge of integrated business systems (SAP), preferred
Export compliance knowledge preferred
5+ years of related experience of inside sales/customer service in a manufacturing environment, preferred
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work without close supervision and to make independent sound business decisions to meet deadlines while supporting business strategies
Effective problem-solving skills
Math aptitude
Good organization skills
