A Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for reviewing import and export transactions, supporting classification research, and helping maintain the recordkeeping a company needs to stay in good standing with CBP, BIS, and other regulatory agencies. Job Duties:
- Review import and export transactions for accuracy and completeness before filing
- Support HTS/HS classification and country-of-origin research under a specialist's or manager's guidance
- Conduct restricted and denied party screening on customers, vendors, and shipments
- Maintain and organize compliance recordkeeping in line with CBP and BIS retention requirements
- Assist in preparing internal audit reports and compliance metrics
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to resolve entry discrepancies
- Support recordkeeping for free trade agreement (USMCA) claims and duty drawback filings
- Monitor regulatory bulletins from CBP, BIS, and OFAC for updates affecting company shipments
- Help develop and update internal compliance training materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, logistics, or international operations
- Working knowledge of HTS classification, Incoterms, and import/export documentation
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficiency with Excel and trade management or ERP systems
- Pursuing or interested in pursuing a certification such as CCS or CES is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
