Emerson has an immediate opening for a Customs Analyst/Specialist reporting to the Materials Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring company compliance to all government legislation for import/export and trade requirements and assisting the buying/planning team with various responsibilities. AS A BUYER/CUSTOMS ANALYST, YOU WILL:
WHO YOU ARE: You seek ways to improve processes, from small tweaks to complete reengineering. You balance the interests of multiple stakeholders. You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. You anticipate and adjust effective contingency plans. You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Experience in developing supplier relationships and driving supplier initiatives.
2+ years of relevant experience
Experience with USMCA declarations
Strong communication, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Solid analytical skills
Proven track record in project management
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility for assigned tasks outside of assigned role
Legal authorization to work in Canada – sponsorship will not be provided for this position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) designation
Knowledge of ERP such as BaaN Systems and Oracle is an asset.
Commercial invoice preparation experience
Product classification (HTS) experience
Experience working with rules to determine country of origin and valuation

The hourly pay for this role is $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
