Are you a highly experienced Customs Entry Clerk with a passion for accuracy, compliance and customs legislation? Our client, a well-established clearing and forwarding company, is looking for a Senior Customs Entry Clerk to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of customs entries across all modes of transport, ensuring full compliance with SARS Customs requirements while delivering a high standard of service.

Duties:
  • Capture and process import and export customs entries.
  • Handle customs entries for airfreight, seafreight, roadfreight, and breakbulk shipments.
  • Perform accurate tariff determinations and commodity classifications.
  • Ensure all customs documentation complies with SARS Customs regulations.
  • Verify supporting documentation prior to customs submission.
  • Resolve customs queries, stops, and amendments efficiently.
  • Liaise with internal departments and customs officials where required.
  • Ensure all entries are processed within agreed turnaround times.
  • Keep up to date with customs legislation, tariff amendments, and industry changes.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience as a Customs Entry Clerk within clearing and forwarding (non-negotiable).
  • ShipShape experience is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience processing both import and export customs entries.
  • Experience handling entries across airfreight, seafreight, roadfreight and breakbulk cargo.
  • Strong tariffing and customs classification experience is essential.
  • Solid understanding of SARS Customs legislation and procedures.

Package & Remuneration

R35,000.00 - R45,000.00 - Monthly plus Pension/Provident Fund, Medical Aid
