A well-established international clearing and forwarding company is seeking a strong Export Controller to join their Cape Town branch.
Duties & Responsibilities
This role is suited to a stable, career-driven individual who can confidently manage export files from A–Z within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
Duties include:
Handling export files from booking through to final invoicing.
Preparing and checking export documentation.
Arranging shipments and coordinating with service providers.
Monitoring cargo movement and ensuring deadlines are met.
Updating clients on shipment progress.
Ensuring accurate file management and profitability on shipments.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in exports within clearing and forwarding for airfreight and seafreight (non-negotiable).
Ability to handle export shipments from start to finish (A–Z), excluding framing entries.
Strong knowledge of export processes, documentation, and shipping requirements.
Experience liaising with clients, shipping lines, transporters, and agents.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong administrative and communication skills.
Stable employment history is essential – candidates with frequent job changes will unfortunately not be considered.
