Description

Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced International Purchasing and Customs Entry Clerk to oversee international purchasing, shipping coordination and customs clearing operations. The successful candidate must have extensive experience in clearing and forwarding, including rebate facilities, bonded stores and SARS customs compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage international purchase orders and supplier communication.
  • Coordinate shipments, vessel schedules and freight forwarding activities.
  • Prepare customs entries and ensure accurate tariff classifications.
  • Manage customs deferment accounts, rebate facilities and bonded stores.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS customs regulations.
  • Liaise with clearing agents, suppliers and customs authorities.
  • Verify shipping documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor shipping costs, payments and operational efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Shipping and Forwarding Diploma (one-year full-time qualification from the School of Shipping or a comparable recognised maritime training institution).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in shipping, clearing and forwarding.
  • Proven experience in customs entries and SARS clearing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of bonded stores, rebate facilities and deferment accounts.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, tariff codes and international shipping documentation.
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage customs clearing functions.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
