SENIOR CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE ANALYST

We are looking for a talented SENIOR CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE ANALYST to join our specialized in  Logistics  at Cummins in San Luis Potosí, SLP. (Hybrid position: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborate with the foreign trade team to ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, and requirements issued by customs, tax, and fiscal authorities.
  • Responsible for executing process improvements to comply with customs regulations and/or export control requirements.
  • Provide support for daily customs operations activities.
  • Monitor and follow up on strategies implemented to comply with legal reforms issued by federal and state governments, as well as international treaties.
  • Supporting government requirement projects.
  • Review customs law reforms and coordinate with Tax, Legal, Fiscal, and Production departments to ensure due diligence.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
University degree required. 
 



Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience as a analyst or specialist in foreign trade or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors: International Relations, Foreign Trade, International Business, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in government management and legal interpretation.
  • 2+ years of experience in customs documentation audits.
  • 2+ years of experience in Non-Tariff Regulations and Restrictions (RRNA).
  • Knowledge of legislative updates related to customs law reforms.
  • Knowledge of international treaties and Incoterms.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Highly desirable: previous experience in consulting firms such as Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Niuko.
  • Desirable: Experience with IMMEX Seciit, Prosec, or Maquila schemes.Desirable: Knowledge of software related to customs operations (Annex 24 and 30, accounting records, etc.).
  • Desirable: Knowledge of tariff classifications and product classifications.
  • Intermediate English level preferred.
