🛑 Export Control & Sanctions (EAR / ITAR / OFAC)

Senior Export Controller position based in Cape Town.

Operational Execution: Manage global air and sea export shipments from initial booking to final delivery.
Documentation Management: Generate and process Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
Customs Compliance: Ensure all cargo adheres to international shipping laws, hazardous goods rules, and port customs requirements.
Carrier Coordination: Reserve space with shipping lines, co-loaders, and airlines to optimize transit times and cost.
Financial Controls: Issue client invoices, approve supplier disbursements, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Client Service: Act as the primary escalation point for key corporate accounts regarding delays or route deviations.

Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8+ years of experience processing both air freight and sea freight exports within a freight forwarding agency.
Technical Knowledge: Complete mastery of Incoterms, port operations, customs clearing systems, and dangerous goods regulations.
System Skills: High proficiency in freight management software Ship Shape.
Attributes: Proven ability to work under high pressure, quick problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication.
