Our Partner is looking for a Trade Compliance Lead, to lead screening activities within a Centre of Excellence (CoE). In this position, you will ensure that operations comply with global trade regulations, including sanctions and export controls. You will be responsible for first- and second-line screening oversight, making final determinations on escalated cases, and working closely with the Group Trade Compliance Team to mitigate risks across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities

Review escalated true matches and assess regulatory risks to determine whether business relationships or transactions can proceed.

Request additional due diligence when needed and provide clear recommendations on continuing or discontinuing engagements.

Guide regulatory restriction assessments and ensure alignment with Group Trade Compliance standards.

Escalate high-risk cases to the Group Trade Compliance Team with structured analysis and justification.

Oversee the calibration and effectiveness of screening systems and workflows.

Develop guidance materials and training related to trade compliance screening activities.

Prepare management reporting on review statistics, turnaround times, and emerging regulatory risks.

Stay informed on global sanctions and export control updates (e.g., OFAC, EU, UN) and regulatory developments.

Support periodic reviews and improvements of screening processes and maintain accurate data governance.
Requirements

Advanced qualification or professional experience in compliance, law, or risk management.

Leadership experience in trade compliance.

Strong understanding of US, EU, and UK sanctions and export control frameworks.

Excellent decision-making abilities and strong stakeholder management skills.

Ability to ensure regulatory defensibility and maintain audit readiness.

Advantageous: ICA, CGSS, or CAMS certifications.
