Job Description

Summary:

- The Trade Compliance Coordinator will be part of a Global Onsite Team supporting one of Expeditors High Tech customers within an import/export operation.

- The Trade Compliance Coordinator will be accountable for meeting all major duties and responsibilities outlined below in a timely and responsive manner, as directed by the Onsite Compliance Manager.

- The Trade Compliance Coordinator will oversee complex compliance projects and provide proactive logistical compliance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

● Enhance customer relationships by identifying areas for improvement in the overall customer experience.

● Maintain weekly reports, dashboards, and presentations to provide stakeholders with real-time project status insights.

● Advise on opportunities for supply chain automation by using AI tools to address operational challenges.

● Proactively monitor, follow up and resolve daily tickets related to: classification, valuation, and product certificates.

● Facilitate customer expansion into new warehouses and data centers by testing workflows in the internal trade automation system.

● Document and track project steps, action items, and scope changes to ensure successful completion.

● Support broader team projects while independently driving individually assigned initiatives.

● Translate key insights from meetings, workshops, and tickets into actionable project plans and deliverables.

● Measure the impact and value of action items and risks prioritizing them accordingly.

● Monitor and address the impact of changes in trade laws and regulations and develop procedural changes as needed. Effectively communicate these changes to the client.

● Consult with customers on customs regulations impacting their import and export activities.

● Support the rollout and implementation of new business initiatives.

● Lead project calls to discuss progress, risks, challenges, and facilitate decision-making.

● Communicate key operational milestones to all key stakeholders and drive alignment.

● Stay up to date with the latest trends, benchmarks, best practices and advancements in supply chain, including emerging tools, techniques and apply new knowledge to improve processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements:

● Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Supply Chain, related field or equivalent experience.

● Knowledge of import/export requirements, trade laws, classification, valuation, origin determination, and Incoterms.

● 1-3 years of supply chain and Customs Brokerage experience in Freight Forwarding or 3PL.

● Must be eligible to work in The Netherlands.

● Industry certifications (e.g., Customs Broker License) preferred.

● Basic understanding of complex country-specific trade requirements.

● Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills to drive positive outcomes.

● Risk sensitive, recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise.

● Ability to evaluate scenarios, recommend solutions, and present the best options.

● Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks.

● Time management, resource management, attention to detail.

● Must be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours, including weekends.

● Travel less than 5%.
