Job Summary
​The Shipping-Customs Brokerage Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing all import/export documentation and customs clearance processes. This role ensures full compliance with customs regulations, accurate HS Code classification, and efficient coordination with freight forwarders and government agencies to minimize tax risks and logistics delays.
​Key Responsibilities
​Customs Compliance & Documentation:
​Prepare and verify the accuracy of shipping documents (e.g., Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading).
​Classify products according to the Harmonized System (HS Code) and apply for tax privileges (e.g., FTA, BOI, Customs Bond, or Duty Drawback).
​Execute and monitor customs declarations via e-Customs systems.
​Shipping & Logistics Coordination:
​Manage cargo bookings (Sea/Air/Land) and track shipments from origin to destination.
​Coordinate with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery.
​Handle logistics claims or insurance issues if cargo damage occurs.
​Cost & Data Management:
​Verify and audit logistics invoices, including freight charges, THC, and brokerage fees.
​Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
​Liaison & Problem Solving:
​Act as the primary point of contact for Customs officers during inspections (Red Line) or audits.
​Provide expert advice to internal departments (Procurement/Sales) regarding import-export regulations and Incoterms.
