Customs Entry Writer

Location: Louisville, KY/ Onsite only

Hours: Full-Time 

Salary: $45,000–$55,000 (DOE)

 

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join an established international freight forwarding and customs brokerage company in Louisville, KY. We're seeking candidates with 3–5 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding. It requires experience with customs entry preparation, HTS classification, tariff codes, and import documentation.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and process customs entry documents for Customs release and duty payment.
  • Prepare Remote Location Filing (RLF) entries.
  • Submit required information and documentation to government agencies.
  • Ensure timely filing of ISF, FDA documentation, and customs entries.
  • Prepare customs clearance packets, billing documentation, and client communications.
  • Process customs brokerage fees and invoices for existing clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient customs clearance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Experience in customs brokerage, customs entry processing, or import documentation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures, duties, and fees accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and customer service.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
